Job Description

As a Mechanical Draftsman, you will play a critical role in the design and development of mechanical components and systems. You will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings based on specifications and calculations provided by engineers and project managers. Your drawings will be vital for manufacturing, construction, and assembly processes, and you will ensure that they adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Working closely with engineers and other members of the design team, you will contribute to the innovation and optimization of mechanical designs. Your keen attention to detail and proficiency with CAD software will ensure that your designs are not only precise but also efficient and cost-effective. • Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using CAD software tools efficiently.
• Work with engineers to develop diagrams and drafts for mechanical systems.
• Update and revise project drawings based on feedback and new specifications.
• Assist in creating design documents and technical documentation as needed.
• Ensure all designs adhere to local industry standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of drafts and project amendments diligently.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative mechanical designs.
• Prepare layout drawings for assemblies and sub-assemblies accurately.
• Perform calculations to verify design dimensions and specifications.
• Conduct occasional site visits to gather information and provide support.
• Participate in design review meetings to discuss project progress.
• Offer technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams as necessary.

• Associate degree or diploma in Mechanical Drafting or related field required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar CAD software essential.
• At least two years of experience as a mechanical draftsman preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities needed.
• Solid communication skills to present ideas clearly to engineering teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently.
