Position Summary

The Senior Project Engineer – is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing hospital infrastructure and engineering projects. This role ensures that all facility-related projects—including construction, renovation, MEP systems, medical gas systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and critical care infrastructure—are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., SHA, JCI, local …).

The role works closely with clinical departments, contractors, consultants, outsource, biomedical teams, and hospital leadership to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations during project execution.

Summary of Main Duties
  • Lead and manage hospital facility and infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
  • Oversee execution of construction, renovation, and engineering works within operational healthcare environments.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractor submissions.
  • Ensure all projects comply with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate with clinical, biomedical, and administrative teams to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and risk assessments.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure adherence to scope, quality, and safety standards.
  • Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Director – Facilities & Engineering.
  • Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover documentation upon project completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope, timelines, cost estimates, procurement plans, and manpower requirements.
  • Supervise contractors, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.

Manage project budgets, review invoices, validate contractor claims, and control cost variations.

Position Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with significant exposure to healthcare or large institutional facility projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
