Our client is currently seeking a qualified Field Technician to join their team in Shakopee, MN and provide end‑user support. This position will require overnight travel from Sunday through Thursday, with onsite work during normal business hours. OT may be required. Requires a valid state driver’s license (Real ), clean MVR, and a reliable vehicle.
Duties and Responsibilities- Project focus on upgrading advanced commercial printers at retail locations.
- Replace printer parts, paper feed, power supply, print head, toner drum, transfer belt, and image unit.
- Perform complex upgrades and troubleshooting of printers, servers, hard drives, and monitor systems.
- Provide on‑site technical support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues related to operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- Install and remove equipment and systems as required.
- Serve as a customer contact on technical and service‑related problems.
- Ensure all schedules, transmissions, and online systems are accurate and resolved in a timely manner.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution and change management processes.
- Determine the most cost‑effective repair / resolution to minimize customer downtime.
- Minimum 2–3+ years of field service experience, specifically with commercial printers.
- Extensive traveling via plane or car is required.
- Commercial/larger printer experience;
Lexmark printer certification is a plus. - Experience working on commercial printers, demonstrating an electronics / mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, databases, and network security concepts and tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook.
- Strong multi‑platform Windows OS experience.
- Familiarity with Rufus, Windows Server imaging, photo printing, system connectivity troubleshooting, and Windows configuration.
- Work independently in a retail environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
- Effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders, leadership, partners, teammates, and customers.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Demonstrated capability to achieve results in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment.
The rate for this position is between $18.76 – $27.50 per hour
. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
