Job Summary

This role is a seasonal, part‑time position with varied hours depending on show schedule and business needs across the season. The Venue Sustainability Supervisor (VSS) will elevate our sustainability program at Mystic Lake Amphitheater, acting as the backbone and driving force behind Live Nation’s resource recovery and circularity program. The VSS is responsible for ensuring maximum landfill diversion during event waste sorting, educating both fans and staff, and supporting the Venue Sustainability Manager’s efforts in cultivating a sustainability culture.

The VSS works under the Venue Sustainability Manager and is part of the venue operations team.

The Role

The Venue Sustainability Supervisor is the backbone of Live Nation’s resource recovery and circularity program at Mystic Lake Amphitheater. The VSS is responsible for ensuring maximum landfill diversion during event waste sorting, educating both fans and staff, and supporting the Venue Sustainability Manager’s efforts in cultivating a sustainability culture.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in VSS onboarding, training, and assist with general Venue Sustainability Crew trainings and oversight.
  • Be onsite during pre‑season venue set‑up, as requested by the Venue Sustainability Manager, to ensure zero‑waste operational procedures are in place.
  • Assist in mid‑ and post‑show waste sorting of all recycling, composting, donations, and landfill materials.
  • Be available on show days and non‑show days—including weekdays and weekends—to supervise sorting operations, support the Venue Sustainability Crew, and ensure maximum resource recovery and diversion from landfill.
  • Assist with Front‑of‑House and Back‑of‑House zero‑waste initiatives as outlined by the Venue Sustainability Manager.
  • Maintain a clean sorting area and support the post‑show pick‑up after each event, which may result in scheduled shifts occurring on days after a show.
  • Be prepared to step in and oversee sustainability processes if the Venue Sustainability Manager cannot attend a scheduled show.
