Customer Service​/Sales

Overview

Position:
Customer Service/Sales at The Home Depot. This role provides fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Associates learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project. They greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments.

Associates maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure it is clean, shop-able, and safe.

• Greet customers, assess needs, and provide assistance to sell projects.
• Learn product information using company tools and advise customers accordingly.
• Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in the department.
• Maintain in-stock conditions; keep areas clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and standards; complete specified safety training; identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Work cooperatively with the Department Supervisor, other department associates, and other departments.
• Support store departments as needed (e.g., Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental).
• Understand that position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
