Job Summary
Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls.
DescriptionConducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Use data acquisition systems to analyze and review data, write computer programs for analysis, and configure engine test programs.
- Interpret results, make necessary adjustments, document data, and maintain electronic files.
- Perform rig, engine, and component builds, tear down, and inspections.
- Grade and measure components.
- Create sketches for machining and fabricate necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings.
- Install engines and instrumentation in test cells and test rigs.
- Use tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, etc.
- Design, document, and execute test plans; provide input during creation of test plans; prepare test reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Apply company and department rules and guidelines.
- Train apprentices and technicians.
- Coordinate programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking.
- Participate in maintenance of quality procedures.
- Lead and participate in improvement projects.
- Develop and give presentations to customers and suppliers.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate confidentiality as required.
- Participate in self‑ and team‑audits and corrective action.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.

- Data Reporting – prepare documentation that clearly organizes and presents testing methods, instrument settings, data, and analysis to enable accurate conclusions.
- Product Function Test System Design – interpret test equipment specifications, select and integrate appropriate equipment, instrumentation and software, and assess capability against requirements.
- Test Setup and Configuration – interpret test plans to determine optimal location and orientation within a test space in accordance with safety and environmental requirements.
- Test Article Build – assemble test articles according to requirements, including necessary instrumentation, to allow successful functional testing.
- Preventative and Predictive Maintenance – interpret maintenance records and data to develop and execute strategies that drive continuous improvement.
- Data Quality – identify, understand, and correct flaws in data to support effective information governance.
- Problem Solving – solve problems and mentor others using a systematic analysis process, determining assignable cause, implementing robust solutions, and ensuring systemic root causes are addressed.

- High school diploma or equivalent in a suitable STEM field.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with Department of Labor Certification.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Must pass all related testing.
- Department of Labor Certification OR four years of experience/education accomplished through either a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
