Machining Engineer – Weekend Night Shift (On‑Site)

Seymour, IN — Join our team specializing in Engineering for the Seymour Machining Center.

We are looking for a talented Machining Engineer to help improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency through sound engineering practices and cross‑functional collaboration.

Impact
  • Support efficient manufacturing processes by planning and implementing machining operations that meet productivity targets and product specifications.
  • Collaborate on tooling and part selection with engineering teams to reduce setup times and optimize changeovers.
  • Contribute to product and performance improvements by analyzing product issues and recommending enhancements.
  • Participate in design and development activities to align technical product and system development with manufacturing goals.
  • Perform equipment evaluations and documentation, recommending design changes to enhance quality and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools to increase equipment availability and capability.
  • Enhance cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and supplier teams for seamless integration of machining processes.
  • Support the implementation of advanced technologies to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Responsibilities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills – build partnerships across teams and deliver clear, multi‑mode communication.
  • Commitment to health and safety excellence – champion proactive safety behaviors and comply建with machine guarding standards.
  • Technical expertise in manufacturing processes – proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and applying dimensional metrology.
  • Process and equipment knowledge – manage equipment procurement, program machine settings, and document manufacturing procedures.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills – design measurement processes, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and optimize material removal tooling.
  • Adaptability and cultural awareness ಈ - comfort with diverse perspectives and dynamic manufacturing environments.
Qualifications
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including weekend second‑shift coverage (Saturday–Monday, approximately 5 PM–5 AM).
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem‑solving skills while driving continuous improvement in machining processes.
  • Interpret and apply 2D part drawings with GD&T principles.
  • Apply foundational knowledge of part machining and fixturing to support production requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Quality, HSE, Materials).
  • Lead and participate in safety investigations and improvement projects.
  • Provide training and guidance to AMA’s, interns/Co‑ops, or School‑to‑Work students.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of the organization.
Education & Experience
  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic level of relevant work experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
