Accountant, Financial Reporting, Staff Accountant

Overview

Memorial Health Care Systems, an award-winning Critical Access Hospital in Seward, NE, is seeking a detail-oriented full-time Accountant to join our team. NOT REMOTE.

This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial information by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing comprehensive reports, and performing a variety of general accounting tasks with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include daily banking transactions, journal entries, general ledger balancing, bank reconciliations, fixed asset management, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.

Candidates must be able to process and analyze data effectively. Proficiency in Excel is required, and experience in healthcare accounting is a plus. An associate’s degree accepted, bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting or closely related program.

• Process daily banking transactions
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger balances
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Manage fixed assets
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Analyze accounting data and prepare reports with minimal supervision

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in healthcare accounting is a plus
