Position: Seasonal Ticketing Cashier

SummaryThis position is responsible for Front of House Reservations and Ticketing functions;
Customer Service and Sales of all admission, tours, and encounters; and visitor information capture from surveys.
Experience in retail sales and/or in a cashier/cash-handling position preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of customer service and/or sales skills preferred. Must be at least 14 years of age.
Primary Responsibilities- Operates Point of Sales System, calculates ticket costs, receives payments, makes correct change, issues receipts, maintains records, answer phones, and exercises full control and accountability for assigned cash drawer to include balancing of cash drawer after each shift.
- Encourages customers to purchase additional tours and/or memberships in addition to general admission. Ensures each customer is made aware of available add-ons.
- Data entry and mailing support as needed and directed by the Development and Guest Services Supervisor.
- Creates a welcoming lobby atmosphere and maintains high level of customer service as outlined in the Ticketing Manual. Ensures both internal and external customers’ expectations are exceeded.
- Follows all safety protocols, and clearly communicates the safety protocols to guests.
- Maintains a clean, neat personal appearance following uniform guidelines as outlined in the Ticketing Manual. Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Works all shifts as scheduled. This position may be required to work mornings, evenings, and/or overtime.
- Fosters good relations with visitors, volunteers, community leaders, contractors, and fellow staff members by promoting positive attitudes, good will, cooperation, and providing high standards of service.
- Complies with all Alaska Sea Life Center policies, procedures, and programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, and maintain friendly and courteous contact with the public under conditions which may be very stressful and busy at times.
