Overview
At Avenues Home Care of Tennessee, our caregivers are our front line and most common representative. As a Caregiver, you will be caring for the elderly, vulnerable, disabled and most often those that cannot care for themselves. You are required to keep the client’s needs above all else and perform the duties with the utmost care. Our office in Knoxville provides caregivers for the area including Bearden, Knoxville, Kodak, Asbury, Claxton, Maryville, and many others.
CaregiverPrimary Responsibilities
- Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client’s plan of care created during intake. Activities may include bathing, dressing, grooming, other personal hygiene, toileting, transferring, eating and continence care.
- Assist with medication assistance, housekeeping services, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, transportation to and from appointments and companionship.
- Other household tasks as specified in the client’s plan of care.
- Report daily activity to your supervisor through the agency management system and daily activity logs. Use other communication avenues when available and needed, including phone calls, emails, the agency app, or in person.

- Pay: $14.00-$17.00/hour based on experience

- Work requires good communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written assignments.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Homecare Company Management System — Clear Care
- Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Caregivers are required to:
- Maintain an established work schedule.
- Effective interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy.
- Effective organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow through.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Maintain “Fit for Duty” physical condition, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and the following minimum requirements:
- 18 Years of Age or Older
- CNA License or alternate caregiver experience, preferred
- CPR & First Aid Certifications, preferred
- Reliable Transportation
Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled and other vulnerable clients.

- Work safely and follow safety rules.
- Report unsafe working conditions and behavior.
