Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, based in Severna Park, MD. The Assistant Superintendent will support the maintenance and upkeep of the 18-hole championship golf course and other landscaped areas. Key responsibilities include managing turf and landscape care programs, overseeing irrigation systems, applying pesticides, and assisting in daily golf course operations. The role will also involve supervising maintenance staff and ensuring the golf course is in tournament-ready condition.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Turf Management and general Golf Course Management to maintain and enhance course quality
  • Experience in Irrigation systems operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Skills in Landscape Maintenance, including care of surrounding grounds and ornamental areas
  • Knowledge and experience in safe and effective Pesticide application and management
  • Strong communication and leadership abilites to direct staff and coordinate daily operations
  • Understanding of environmental stewardship practices related to golf course maintenance
  • Bachelor's degree in turfgrass management or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and meet physical demands of the role
  • Maryland pesticide license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe
