Overview
The primary role of the Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting issues, providing training, and recommending workflow improvements.
Responsibilities- Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens accurately.
- Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment as necessary.
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods such as urine or fecal, in a clear and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required.
- 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Severna Park, MD.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
