Join our well‑established CPA firm in Severna Park/Anne Arundel County, Maryland. We are looking for a Tax Manager to manage a team, prepare tax returns, and provide tax advisory services to individuals and small to medium‑sized businesses.
Job SummaryPermanent role; responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trust), creating financial statements, offering strategic tax planning and advisory, using Quick Books and Lacerte, staying up‑to‑date with legislation, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with the team to enhance client service.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- Assist clients with strategic tax planning and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare business income tax returns and create detailed financial statements.
- Provide tax advisory services, including planning, research, and compliance.
- Understand client financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Use Quick Books and Lacerte Tax software for tax preparation and reporting.
- Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate potential impacts to clients.
- Collaborate with team members to improve client services and firm efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- CPA or EA certification highly preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in tax accounting.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and Lacerte Tax software.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High integrity and professionalism with commitment to firm reputation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Work‑life balance with shorter summer weeks and extended holiday weekends.
