- English - Central Campus Responsibilities

• Teaching: Keeps up with developments in the field of study.
• Teaching: Demonstrates high standards—academic and professional.
• Teaching: Evaluates student work constructively and provides timely feedback.
• Teaching: Teaches at times and locations that meet student needs including 7:00 AM courses and/or off-site face-to-face courses.
• Teaching: Provides access to students through posted conference hours, electronic communications, and other appropriate methods and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Teaching: Reviews, evaluates, and recommends student learning materials.
• Teaching: Develops and uses a syllabus and course information materials for each course, laboratory, or clinical setting within state, college, and departmental guideline.

• Professional Development: Maintains high standards of competence in the discipline(s) and teaching methodologies through professional development activities.
• Professional Development: Use effective teaching methods and materials that reflect thoughtful planning, assist students in meeting course objectives, are appropriate for students with different backgrounds and learning styles, and engage students in learning.
• Professional Development: Reviews, evaluates, reflects, and revises program curricula and teaching methods through a self-evaluation process of self-reflection.
• Professional Development: Meets or exceeds professional standards, state-mandated guidelines, requirements of business/industry, and higher education, as appropriate to the discipline.

• Master's degree with at least eighteen (18) graduate hours in English, Literature, Composition/Rhetoric, or related field.
• The college is seeking an energetic professor with proven success in teaching as indicated in the applicant’s Student Success Statement.
• The successful candidate will be able to work successfully with community college students, recruit and retain students, and support the total program of the department and college.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the discipline through professional activities.
• Community college or university teaching experience.

• Preference will be given to candidates with two (2) or more years of community college teaching experience.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have either taught dual credit courses or high school.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have distance-learning teaching experience.
