Basic Qualifications
- An advanced degree in a STEM field (physics, engineering, mathematics, or computer science)
- Low-level simulation of scatter and sensor phenomenology to generate synthetic data for algorithm testing
- Algorithm prototyping in python, Matlab, and/or C++
- Working closely with real-time and high-performance software/firmware engineers to port prototypes to flight hardware
- High-level simulation of payload performance to support payload design and compliance analysis
- Experience with coherent wave sensing and the associated physics (electromagnetics, optics, and/or acoustics)
- Statistical signal processing expertise
- Proficiency in computer programming for research purposes
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
The Rapid Solutions team with Lockheed Martin Space in Severn, MD, is looking for a research scientist with a background in RF sensors and algorithm development. The Rapid Solutions team is focused on building advanced radar and passive RF payloads, and developing operating concepts and algorithmic strategies for such payloads. This position will focus on advanced algorithms and high-speed implementations thereof for near-real-time applications.

- Experience with synthetic aperture and moving target indication radar
- Experience with active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
- Experience transitioning or supporting the transition of algorithms from research to high-performance software/firmware implementations
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
