Service Engineer – Field Service

Join NOV as a Field Service Engineer based at your home, traveling across the UK to deliver expert calibration and repair services for process weighing and measurement equipment.

About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer you will calibrate, commission, and maintain systems such as belt weighers, boiler leak detection, and related test rigs. You will support the full Procon product line, including advanced calibration disciplines like temperature, conductivity, pH, pressure, and magnet strength.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate and commission on‑site process weighing systems using F1/M1 test weights, flow meters, and force calibration rigs.
  • Install and commission belt weighers and boiler leak detection systems.
  • Calibrate instruments for temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, and magnet strength.
  • Perform off‑site repairs of scales and balances at Procon HQ.
  • Prepare service reports and calibration certificates before leaving a site.
  • Ensure compliance with NOV/Procon HSE policies and procedures.
  • Support assembly and testing at HQ as needed.
  • Provide weekend cover (one Saturday in every three).
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers on joint service jobs.
  • Travel and overnight stays across the UK as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC preferred).
  • Time‑served engineer or equivalent hands‑on field experience.
  • Strong background in service/calibration of process weighing equipment.
  • Proficient in fault finding on weighing systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical diagnostics and calibration equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure and independently.
  • Effective communication and report‑writing skills.
  • Team‑oriented with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
