Overview

Part-Time Mobile Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist in Sequim/Port Angeles/Port Townsend Area. APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage to complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Western Washington office for APPS is looking for quality medical professionals to help complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company.

Bilingual applicants are encouraged.

Position: Mobile Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist in Sequim/Port Angeles/Port Townsend Area.

Responsibilities
  • Independent contractors (ICs) are self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision while completing quality exams using medical knowledge.
  • Conduct exams on a mobile basis in the client’s home or office, including blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12-lead EKGs.
  • Follow all compliance and safety policies and procedures; maintain accuracy and confidentiality in gathering client information.
  • Exams may last 15 minutes to a little over an hour depending on requirements.
Hours
  • Set your own schedule. Exams are available 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year.
  • Many contractors have full-time jobs and use this as an opportunity to earn additional income.
  • Scheduling assistance is provided so you can focus on medical exams.
Job Details
  • Reimbursement: Reimbursed every two weeks by direct deposit for each completed exam.
  • Territory: Set your own territory by choosing the zip codes you will work within.
  • Orientation: 3–4 hour in-person orientation to verify skills and review paperwork and the IC portal.
  • Equipment: Equipment may be rented (tablets, EKG machines, centrifuges). Use of your own equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed. Some items may need to be purchased, including: manual BP cuff Large & Extra Large.
  • Stethoscope, tape measure (soft fabric & metal), printer/paper/ink, scale (400 lb), gloves, alcohol swabs, bandages or Coban, gauze.
Qualifications
  • Actively practicing phlebotomy with a minimum of 1 year of work experience.
  • Trained in manual blood pressure and pulse collection.
  • Familiarity with tablets/computers.
  • Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients/home health.
  • EKG experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Reliable vehicle with a valid state driver’s license and auto insurance.

Education required: High school diploma or equivalency. Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant state certification is required.
