Overview

Engineer and Project Leader, Industrial Electrical (Relocation to Sept-Îles) at BBA Consultants. Regular position based in Sept-Îles with opportunities to work with offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire. The role focuses on pursuing project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, delivering mining, metals and energy sector projects, and maintaining and growing client relationships.

• Assist industrial clients in energy and mining markets with operations, maintenance, and growth projects
• Perform site surveys and tests on high- and medium-voltage electrical equipment
• Participate in commissioning of new equipment and systems
• Contribute to various stages of project execution; ensure quality professional services and strong client relationships
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary projects as a senior electrical expert
• Prepare and supervise production of plans and specifications
• Supervise or participate in preparing technical study reports
• Manage technical projects (teams, design reviews, costs, schedules)
• Transfer technical knowledge to junior engineers
• Lead and participate in preparing proposals
• Prepare material take-offs and studies

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• At least five years of professional experience in major industrial and multidisciplinary projects
• Technical and functional skills in medium- and low-voltage industrial power distribution
• Experience managing a team (2–5 resources)
• Ability to draft technical documents
• Bilingual English and French (spoken and written)
• Available to work at client sites and offices in Québec and the rest of Canada
• Solid knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
• Assets: knowledge of ETAP and AutoCAD; OPEX experience at client sites; site supervision; knowledge of foreign electrical codes, standards and methods
