Job Description

Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Engineering Technology Instructor. The successful candidate will provide instruction to high school students in areas such as engineering design, problem-solving, CAD, measurement and precision, basic manufacturing processes, robotics/automation concepts, blueprint reading, prototyping, and safe use of tools and lab equipment.

Instruction will align to PDE requirements and industry expectations, preparing students for postsecondary education and workforce entry.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of four (4) years documented work experience in an engineering-related, manufacturing, automation, drafting/CAD, or technical field within the past 10 years.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, technical systems, measurement, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to manage a lab environment and supervise student projects safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PDE Career and Technical Instructional Certification (or the ability to obtain).
  • Experience with CAD software, prototyping, CNC, robotics, automation, or related technologies.
  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supervising youth or entry-level employees.
Responsibilities Include
  • Delivering hands-on and theory-based instruction aligned to industry standards and PDE Task Lists.
  • Assessing student performance and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinating student certifications and work-based learning opportunities when applicable.
  • Collaborating with advisory committee members and local industry partners to support program improvement.
  • Participating in professional development and program evaluation activities.
