Position Overview

Foothills Christian School is seeking a full-time Upper School Humanities Teacher to serve students in grades 7–12. This position includes teaching a combination of English/Literature and History courses.

We are looking for a teacher who loves working with young people, values rich classroom discussion, and is eager to help students grow intellectually and spiritually. The ideal candidate enjoys engaging primary sources, classic works of literature, and meaningful historical study in ways that challenge students to think clearly and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Teach multiple sections of Upper School English/Literature and/or History
  • Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, curiosity, and Christian character
  • Encourage strong reading, writing, analytical, and discussion skills
  • Integrate faith thoughtfully and appropriately within the curriculum
  • Provide timely feedback and maintain clear communication with parents
  • Participate in faculty meetings and ongoing professional development
  • Support the broader life of the school, including student supervision during breaks and school activities
Qualifications
  • A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to discipleship
  • (Bachelor’s degree or Master’s preferred but not required) in Humanities, English, History, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A love for mentoring and investing in students
  • Teaching experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
