Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
  • Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that impact the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
  • Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
  • In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of store management, including required system start-ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
Operations
  • Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
  • Scan deliveries while vendor is in the store, perform One Box receiving, mark deliveries as received if product was delivered, contact vendors for past undelivered receipts, and open tickets to correct inaccurate orders.
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist‑in‑charge, verify postings for pharmacy shipments and complete or verify postings for pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, and other required orders; perform tote audits and report shortages or damaged product.
  • Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns before expiration, and scan outs/returns for all subscribed departments and pharmacy.
  • Under supervision, complete pharmacy inventory activities including recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged salvage returns; facilitate excess inventory returns or interstore transfers where applicable for non-returnable ABC overstock; verify posting of all pharmacy/prescription claims.
  • Perform pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and ensuring accurate signage and timely completion of regulatory tasks.
  • Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders to identify excesses, maintain consigned inventory, and place orders as required.
  • Ensure designated pull & quarantine on-hands are updated and stored properly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
  • Under supervision, maintain accuracy of inventory counts in pharmacy and perform pharmacy smart counts.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products (e.g., alcohol and tobacco).
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and posting of all products received at the store in inventory systems; organize files and retain invoices/receipts/return authorizations for inventory activities.
  • Assist with physical inventory preparation and participate in physical inventory day activities, including staging the sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy for inventory and auditing third-party teams.
  • Support keeping counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; be knowledgeable of store systems and equipment.
  • Assist and coach store team on package delivery activities, including scanning in/out, daily inventory functions, and package returns; support execution of Pickup Program.
  • In designated stores, act as leader on duty and manage related POS tasks, including scanning errors, price verifications, price modifications, returns, voids, cash handling, and providing change as needed.
  • Comply with company policies and maintain respectful relationships; complete any additional tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
  • Attend company trainings and complete all e-learning modules including safety training requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Qualifications
  • Six months of prior Walgreens experience (internal) or one year of prior retail experience (external).
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending/implementing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer prior experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
  • Prefer prior Walgreens experience with an evaluation on file.
