The Job You Will Perform
  • The FLL Pulp Position:
    This position provides leadership and support in the pulp manufacturing process, managing safety, environmental, people, operations, and reliability performance of the Pulp Mill areas including Woodyard, Digesters, Caustic Plant, Brown Stock Washers, Bleach Plants, and ClO2 generators.
  • Manage all production and maintenance shift employees in their area during rotation to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and continuous operation of the mill.
  • Operate in a broad spectrum of areas such as Leadership, Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and People.
  • Lead the Mill’s Emergency Response Team in the event of an emergency.
  • Deliver targeted results in safety, environmental, employee engagement, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity.
  • Set team expectations, leverage teamwork, and hold individuals and the team accountable for results.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure quality parameters are achieved and maintained.
  • Hold developmental one-to-one feedback sessions with direct reports.
  • Implement and support reliability excellence initiatives (e.g., work systems, precision maintenance, basic care, RCFA).
The Skills You Will Bring
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3 to 8 years experience in Pulp Manufacturing.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Completion of First Line Leader or other formal Leadership Development required.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of improving employee engagement.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Completion of Front Line Leader modules and certification required; enrolled candidates who commit to complete modules within 6 months acceptable.
  • Action Oriented, Functional / Technical Skills, Building Effective Teams, Confronting Direct Reports, Command Skills, Conflict Management, Listening, Informing, Planning, Organizational Agility, Managing Through Systems.
