Schedule:

Commensurate with education and experience according to Salary Schedule E5.

Scope:
Provide secretarial support services as need to the department.

In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Dean of Students, the President, and the State Board of Education, responsibilities will include the following:

* Receive and greet applicants, students, faculty, staff and the general public in a courteous and tactful manner.

* Answer office telephone, take and relay messages, greet students, receive, report, direct and respond as needed to office callers and walk-ins.

* Receive, process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, emails, fax, statements, notifications, reports, letters, and other communications.

* Assist and correlate with the Director of Financial Aid and/or Financial Aid Administrator Assistance/Specialists (concerning all documents preparation/submission, not limited to FA Appeals and Scholarships for the Committees).

* Assist students with the completion of the online FAFSA.

* Assist in the submission of student applications and schedules, organization and maintenance of files, keeping up-to-date on current Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and attending Federal/LEU training seminars and/or workshops.

* Input student data in the computer as required.

* Maintain inventory of office supplies, type purchase requisitions, and place order when needed.

* Serve on assigned committees of the college and assist in other areas as needed.

* Maintain and secure equipment including but not limited to computer, Typewriter, etc.

* Work well with others and show respect to all college constituents.

* Create labels for student files, ensure files are maintained in a safe and secure location in alphabetical order and/or per assigned, and retrieve, upload, download, manage, sort and coordinate student files as necessary.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director, Dean of Students, or the President.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Associate degree required.

* Experience work Proficient computer skills are preferred. Banner Operating systems is required.

* Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of Title IV required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience working in a Financial Aid Office setting with low-income, first-generation students is preferred.

* An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the two-year college.
