Base pay: $29.00/hr - $30.00/hr salary based on skills and experience.
Job DescriptionThe Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of Freeman Arts Pavilion, patrons, and staff. This position has a flexible, part‑time schedule from October through March. From April through September, hours are event driven, requiring a combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Late shifts may be required depending on the performance. The Security Manager reports directly to the Facility Director.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Security Supervisor or Manager, former law enforcement officer, security management or military personnel; other combinations of experience may be considered. Security and crowd control experience in large venues or outdoor spaces is strongly preferred. Good work ethic and the ability to work without close supervision is paramount.
All candidates must be comfortable with managing conflict and responding to customer problems with a sense of urgency. It is required that anyone working in this position have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and stand or walk for up to four hours at a time. This position works outdoors in the sun and heat, so candidates should be able to work outdoors.
All candidates must be 21 years of age or older. This is not a contractor position.
- Knowledgeable about Freeman Arts Pavilion programs, policies, safety plans, and communicates effectively with patrons, staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Supports Standards for Excellence and other nonprofit accreditations.
- Intimately familiar with JMFF Emergency Operations Plan; communicates procedures and participates in training, drills, and exercises.
- Oversees seasonal security staff and Security Supervisor; ensures property patrols, building inspections, and access control procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with departments on sensitive investigations and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and laws.
- Implements and monitors emergency response procedures for incidents such as active shooters, fire, flood, or bomb threats.
- Maintains effective information flow within security, develops procedures, and ensures accurate records and reports.
- Performs managerial duties: hiring, training, assigning work, approving timesheets, appraising performance, and addressing complaints.
- Acts as liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement and life safety agencies.
- Monitors event activities, responds to emergencies, completes incident reports, and updates Crisis Go as needed.
- Organizes and conducts staff and volunteer meetings, communicating key information.
- Coordinate all security and safety issues with each visiting artist management team.
- Coordinate preshow security briefings with artist management team and production team.
- Organize annual tabletop exercise with DIAC and other emergency response partners.
- Attend meetings with our emergency response partners whose offices are located in cities other than Selbyville, DE, such as Dover, DE and Georgetown, DE to name a few.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be 21 or older.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Must possess or obtain CPR/AED certification.
- Must successfully complete all required electronic employment processes.
