Overview
Assist in delivering high-quality, consistent aquatic programs and services to the community. Serve as a lifeguard by monitoring patron safety and enforcing aquatic facility rules, policies, and procedures. Initiate water rescues and administer First Aid and/or CPR, as needed. Maintain lifesaving and rescue skills at rescue-ready levels throughout the duration of employment. Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time. Attend mandatory in-service training, as required, to maintain certification. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

- Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing, or walking for various lengths of time.
- Assist with support of departmental programs and city-wide special events, including coordination and setup.
- Clean and maintain public areas during operating hours.
- Attend mandatory in-service training, as required, to maintain certification.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to swim.
- Previous lifeguard experience is preferred but not required.
- Must successfully complete lifeguard certification training.
