Cashier positions involve providing fast, friendly, accurate and safe service at the checkout and in the Self-Checkout area, processing Checkout and/or Return transactions, and assisting customers with product information and selling opportunities. A Head Cashier may supervise and coach Front End Associates and assist in training new Cashiers.

• Process checkout and returns transactions, and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide product knowledge to customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first level escalation for customer issues.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others.
• Preferred qualification for a Head Cashier: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
