The Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot focuses on stocking and preparing the store for daily operations. Associates load and unload trucks, move material from the receiving area throughout the store, and may operate forklifts. They may perform critical functions for maintaining proper on-hands and pricing for customers. Direct customer interaction is often required in some positions. The Freight/Receiving roles may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate, and Receiving Support.
Responsibilities- Load and unload trucks and move material from receiving areas through the store to ensure products are available for customers.
- Keep the store stocked and ready for business each day.
- Operate forklifts to handle merchandise.
- Maintain proper on-hands and pricing information for customers.
- Provide direct customer service when required by the position.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to stocking, receiving, and merchandising.
- Willingness to work in a retail/store environment with frequent interactions with customers.
