Overview
Job Description The customer service representative (CSR) provides administrative support and assistance to integrated behavioral health, medical, and dental clinics and works in collaboration with clerical support staff for the Federally Qualified Health Center of South-Central Texas.
Responsibilities- Provide clerical support and assistance with special projects as assigned by the Center Director or Office Manager, including receptionist duties, data entry, running electronic health record reports, copying and collation of materials, typing, mailing correspondence, maintaining office equipment and vehicles, maintaining preassembled staffing packets, ordering supplies, filing clinical records and purchase requisitions as requested.
- Assist persons in services by scheduling appointments and delivering quality customer service to the individual and appropriate staff members. Meet with individuals in services to perform initial and annual financial review/addendum, update demographic information in the electronic chart, and scan documents and other information into the individual’s electronic chart.
- Gather necessary documentation, provide insurance verification for scheduled clinic appointments, determine and notate expected individual responsibility for scheduled visits based on insurance and financial ability to pay.
- Assist with obtaining authorization from insurance companies for required services and provide responses to account for specific concerns from individuals about balances. Follow up on past due balances and develop an agreement to pay according to center policy. Identify and schedule individuals with Benefits Specialists.
- Work with a team of business support staff to ensure an effective and efficient work environment.
- Location:
Guadalupe County, with potential to support Caldwell and Gonzales Counties as well - Hourly Salary Range: $17.30 – $22.05
- .75/hour – Bilingual
- 1.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS
- 1.00/hour – Career ladder specialty
- Up to $2.00/hour – previous experience with a community center in a similar setting

Credentials and QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience Working With Persons With Disabilities.
Strong computer and communication skills.
Experience in a medical office setting.
Demonstration of successful work experience regarding regular and timely attendance.
Must have Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred AND required education, experience, job knowledge, skills and abilities helpful in the performance of this position, as indicated below:
- Some college (1-2 years) or associate’s degree.
- Experience of having financial discussions with clients regarding treatment costs.
- Bilingual.
Salary Amount $35,984.00 - $45,864.00/year
