Finance

Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) Large Engines is seeking an Accountant in Seguin, TX. This highly motivated individual contributor will provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.

• Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
• Creating reports on financial performance, presenting to management and providing insightful analysis for internal use.
• Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP.
• Perform monthly material cost analysis.
• Prepare quarterly cost monitoring.
• Support normals rate development and abnormals reporting.
• Lead standard cost setting and analysis.

  Experience:
  
  This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business related degree and 3+ years of job related experience.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
  Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Analytical Thinking:
  Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Financial Analysis:
  Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
• Financial Reporting:
  Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

• Strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, good judgement and accountability.
• Ability to resolve issues independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Axiom.
