Our Power & Energy segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. We deliver these products and services to Cat machine, oil & gas, power generation, transportation and industrial customers. Power & Energy is also developing the advanced power sources of the future and is working on many solutions to help our customers lower their carbon footprint.

Additionally, our Remanufacturing Division is another key component to the Power & Energy portfolio, which provides great economical and sustainability benefits to customers.

Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) Large Engines is seeking an Accountant in Seguin, TX. This highly motivated individual contributor will provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.

• Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
• Creating reports on financial performance, presenting to management and providing insightful analysis for internal use.
• Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP.
• Perform monthly Material cost analysis.
• Prepare Quarterly Cost Monitoring.
• Support Normals rate development and abnormals reporting.
• Lead Standard cost setting and analysis.

  Experience:
  
  This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business related degree and 3+ years of job related experience.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
• Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

• Strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal skills
• Initiative, good judgement and accountability
• Ability to resolve issues independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Axiom
