PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
To support students and staff in Essential Academics (EA) settings by ensuring the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) with fidelity. This role involves planning and monitoring program services, providing training and consultation to teachers on instruction, classroom management, data tracking, and scheduling. The EA Specialist collaborates with staff and stakeholders to ensure students are served in the least restrictive environment (LRE), are making academic and behavioral progress, and that appropriate strategies, curricula, and IEP goals are in place.
The specialist also communicates with families and participates in ARD committees as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree preferred
Valid Texas teacher's certificate, with required special education endorsements for assignments
minimum of 3 years of classroom special education teaching experience
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
IEP development and progress monitoring
Behavior management using positive strategies
Strong collaboration with staff and families
Effective communication and documentation skills
