Job Description
At Peace Health, we are committed to providing safe, compassionate care. As a Surgical Technologist at United General Medical Center in Sedro-Wooley, Washington, you will be part of a close-knit team that ensures every patient receives exceptional care.
Schedule & Compensation- Schedule: 8‑hour and 10‑hour day shifts, variable day shifts to provide additional staffing as needed.
- Operating Rooms: 2 OR suites.
- Additional information: No weekend shifts and no call requirement.
- Hospital: 25‑bed critical access hospital that is part of a mission‑driven health system.
- Compensation: Wage range $38.22‑$57.34, plus an additional 15% per diem differential in lieu of benefits.
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, performing a variety of technical duties.
- Arrange and inventory sterile set‑up for operations and pass items as needed to the surgical team.
- Understand and apply the principles of asepsis; establish and maintain sterile field.
- Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation; assist with clean‑up and room turnover.
- Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
- Participate in all safety initiatives; adhere to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology school or recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist.
- Registered Surgical Technologist in Washington State.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at date of hire.
- One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a full‑service operating room preferred.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Patient handling: no greater than 35 lbs without assistive equipment.
- Fine motor skills required for medical equipment.
- Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
- Frequent reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and grasping.
- Lift/Carries: frequently up to 15 lbs, occasionally up to 20 lbs.
- Push/Pull: frequently up to 20 lbs force, occasionally up to 30 lbs force.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Time spent on site in a medical/hospital setting.
- Vision and hearing within normal limits.
