The PLM Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems that enable efficient collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise systems. This role serves as a technical and functional liaison between engineering, IT, and production to ensure accurate and timely data flow throughout the product lifecycle—from concept and design through production and sustainment.

  • Administer and maintain the PLM system (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, SAP ECTR, or similar), ensuring system performance, data integrity, and security
  • Configure workflows, item types, release processes, and data integrations based on evolving business needs
  • Support versioning, access control, and change management processes
  • Work closely with IT and ERP teams to integrate PLM with downstream systems (e.g., SAP, MES, CAD systems, and document control platforms)
  • Develop and maintain data mapping and transfer logic to ensure seamless flow of BOMs, part numbers, and revisions across platforms
  • Participate in the definition and rollout of digital thread initiatives to connect design and manufacturing data
  • Partner with engineering and production teams to standardize and document PLM processes across the enterprise
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve user experience, and reduce data redundancy
  • Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and functional testing
  • Provide technical support and training for engineering and operations personnel using PLM systems
  • Develop user guides, best practices, and system documentation
  • Act as a subject matter expert for PLM process questions and change management initiatives
  • Work with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, IT, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Quality) to align PLM standards with corporate data governance policies
  • Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) or similar forums to evaluate and implement system/process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Behavior:
The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
