Job Title: Center Store Manager
Manage Center Store departments labor, merchandising and gross profit.
Reports To: Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities- Manage all center store departments including grocery, frozen, liquor, GM, HBC, and dairy.
- Manage center store teammates.
- Involved in training of center store teammates.
- Responsible for a weekly display plan for end aisle merchandising and AD promotion.
- Responsible for allocation of shelf space according to movement, capacity, and profitability.
- Supervise and order all center store products and supplies to minimize out‑of‑stocks while maintaining desired grocery inventory turns.
- Greet guests, respond to guest questions, requests, complaints, and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
- Be observant of security problems and develop methods of prevention.
- Assist with back‑room preparation: receipt of merchandise, unloading of trucks, checking load for shortage/overage, sorting cases, stocking merchandise, building displays, storing back stock.
- Assist with cleaning: store floors, check lanes, carts, restrooms, parking lot, shelves; safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Assist with loading stocking carts, transporting cases to sales floor, matching case strip to shelf tag, placement of merchandise, front row program, picking up broken containers and packing materials.
- Assure safety of self, guests, and co‑workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying store manager of hazards.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by store manager, substitute for absent workers, and perform additional tasks during peak periods.
- Assist safety procedures for baler, case cutter, pallet jack, forklift, floor cleaning equipment.
- Assist with manual price marking/labeling without UPC code.
- Assist movement of damaged or returnable products from shelves to back‑room, sorting into bins, returning damage to reclaim center.
- Assist with proper case opening and product stacking techniques.
- Assist removal of trash, operating baler, loading salvage onto trucks.
- Assist with changing signs, light bulbs, tags, price markers.
- Communicate with store manager on problems, recommendations, effectiveness of plans and merchandising decisions.
- Able to give and receive complex verbal instructions concerning store policy, procedures and equipment.
- Work and educational history demonstrating stability.
- Basic reading and writing ability; able to read instructions, merchandise labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper and forms.
- Make judgments concerning placement of merchandise, pricing, teammate scheduling, order of supplies, department conditions, hiring and supervision, merchandising plans, operational policies, and sales promotions.
- Good interpersonal communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior grocery department experience.
- Prior supervisory experience.
This position requires repeatedly to perform the following motions:
- Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, grip, twist, lift, climb, carry, walk, kneel.
Occasionally and Frequently categories:
Sedentary, Light, Medium, Heavy, Very Heavy. The teammate must be able to perform the motions frequently or occasionally under the required strength level.
- Case cutter, utility knife, forklift (certified), pallet jack, compact baler.
- Slicer, oven, fryer, knives, mixers.
- The teammate will not use drugs or alcohol on the job.
- The teammate will not create a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
