Pay: $20 starting competitive rate; (high-care differential included)
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a high-care individual with behavioral and personal care needs during evening hours in a residential setting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining structure, safety, and routine during the afternoon and evening transition.
This role is best suited for someone who is calm under pressure, consistent, and comfortable providing hands-on support while following individualized behavior and safety plans.
Responsibilities- Provide direct personal care, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and daily living support
- Implement and follow behavior support plans and safety protocols
- Maintain close supervision to ensure the individual’s safety at all times
- Support emotional regulation using approved coping strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Assist with evening routines, including meals, hygiene, and preparing for bedtime
- Administer medications as trained and authorized
- Support limited community activities or in-home engagement as appropriate
- Accurately complete shift documentation, behavior tracking, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members
- Maintain a calm, professional presence during high-stress or behavioral situations
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfortable supporting individuals with significant behavioral and care needs
- Ability to remain patient, consistent, and emotionally regulated
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transportation is required)
- Must pass background checks and required screenings
- Previous experience as a DSP, CNA, RBT, or in behavioral health
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or challenging behaviors
- Familiarity with behavior support plans (BSPs), ABA principles, or crisis prevention strategies
