JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Service Worker - Clinic is required to maintain the facility environment at Bothwell Regional Health Center Clinic in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition; to provide a suitable environment for the care of patients and the work of staff and other health care providers.

The Environmental Service Worker - Clinic reports directly to Director Environmental Service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Licensure/Certification: None.
Work Experience: On‑job training.

RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES

Cleaning of exam rooms, offices, supply rooms, break rooms, medicine rooms, lab, x‑ray room, procedure room, restrooms, windows and door glass if applicable with proper method. Removal and transport of soil linen and put in proper receptacle.

Disposal of trash and infectious waste.

Light laundry duties and light maintenance duties where applicable.

Floor care by either dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, cleaning carpet, buffing or waxing.

Document the procedure involved in the disposal of hospital waste products, and ensure that the right procedure in line with the standard practice of the hospital is followed.

Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works mostly indoors in a well‑lighted and ventilated environment.
Works outdoors occasionally in heat and cold weather.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
Subject to frequent interruptions.
Work with chemicals that could be corrosive.
