PositionSummary
The Manager of Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for designing, leading, and continuously improving the organization’s learning strategy to build critical skills, strengthen management capability, and support business performance. This role reports directly to the VP, HR and has a functional reporting line to the Global OD Manager. The Manager operates with a high degree of independence, demonstrating ownership of processes and the ability to proactively drive initiatives from conception to execution.
The Manager partners closely with senior leaders and HR colleagues to align learning initiatives with organizational priorities, ensuring employees at all levels have access to impactful, scalable development opportunities. The role requires balancing the implementation of global processes and standards with thoughtful local adaptations that maximize relevance and effectiveness for the US business context.
This position is based in the NY or NJ office, hybrid 4 days in office 1 day remote.
Key Responsibilities Learning Strategy- Translate and adapt the global learning and development strategy to fit the needs, priorities, and context of the business unit.
- Establish learning standards, and frameworks to ensure consistency, quality, and effectiveness across the organization.
- Support business goals by developing targeted learning initiatives that drive performance, engagement, and growth.
- Design and oversee learning and development programs for frontline managers, mid-level leaders, and senior executives.
- Partner with executives and functional leaders to identify current and future capability needs.
- Support succession and internal mobility through development-focused learning pathways.
- Lead the design and deployment of blended learning solutions including instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and experiential learning.
- Facilitate workshops, leadership sessions, and training programs as part of the role's core responsibilities.
- Oversee onboarding programs for new employees and managers, including buddy programs, to ensure effective integration and engagement.
- Promote continuous learning and a culture of development across the organization.
- Own and optimize learning platforms, such as learning management systems (Doceebo) and personal and professional development platforms (Stitch/Fitting Room).
- Use learning data, metrics, and feedback to measure effectiveness, ROI, and learner engagement.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt modern learning methodologies and tools.
- Serve as a subject matter expert an advisor to HR leadership and business leaders on learning-related matters.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, and other internal stakeholders to embed learning into key people processes.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and learning partners.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring effective use of resources and strong vendor performance.
- Set clear goals, priorities, and accountability for the function.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, or a related field preferred, not required.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, organizational development, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience designing and leading enterprise-level learning initiatives.
- Strong facilitation skills, including leading workshops, trainings, and group learning experiences
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and partner effectively across the organization.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, management development, and learning technologies.
