Under the general supervision of the Mental Health Program Manager, the specialized mental health agent will serve as the first line of supervision for a caseload consisting primarily of individuals who are living with a mental illness. Maintain a professional communication network with internal and external stakeholders, advocate on behalf of those supervised to seek/maintain stability. Maintain effective knowledge of all areas of mental health supervision, programs, policies and protocols.
Participate in trainings and maintain all requirements for Mental Health Certification.
- Provide supervision and case management for a caseload of individuals living with mental illness.
- Maintain professional communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advocate on behalf of supervises to support stability and access to resources.
- Maintain knowledge of mental health supervision, programs, policies and protocols.
- Participate in trainings and maintain requirements for Mental Health Certification.
- A bachelor’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses; or
- An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience); or
- A high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience).
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, applicants will be required to obtain C-1 law enforcement certification by the SC Criminal Justice Academy within 1 year of employment (12 weeks which includes an 8 week sequestration at the academy).
