Tax Services Senior Manager – FSO – State and Local Income Tax, EDGE

As part of EY’s State and Local (SALT) practice, you will support hedge fund, private equity, banking and real estate clients in navigating the evolving state and local tax environment.

• Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
• Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients.
• Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
• Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities.
• Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs.
• Supervise a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• CPA, licensed Attorney or EA.
• Minimum of 8 years professional knowledge of state and local income/franchise tax processes, concepts and tools.
• Experience managing budgets, people and projects.
• Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
• Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
• Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
• Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.

• Proven record in a professional services environment or in‑house experience in a wealth and asset management company.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro.
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members.

• Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, pension, 401(k) and paid time off. Base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $132,700 to $303,200, with higher ranges in major metro areas.
• Flexible hybrid work model: most client‑serving roles work in person 40–60% of the time.
• Generous vacation and holiday leave, with additional time off in winter/summer breaks and for personal needs.
