Job DescriptionTroubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings. Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements. Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness.
Provides on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and facility policy. Participates in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attends at least 80% of staff meetings to maintain high skill levels. Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines. Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physicians. Conducts specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo, EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors.
Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High School Grad or Equiv (Required)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
