A Shuttle Driver Lead is responsible for dispatching drivers for the hospital Shuttle program. Dispatch vehicles initially or throughout the day as needed. Assist with vehicle safety checks, and ensure a smooth, timely pull-out. Monitor shuttle operations during peak arrival and departure times. The Shuttle Driver Lead may also have an assigned daily route and be required to fill in for a driver on an emergency basis.
Responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are fueled, ready for dispatch or secured at the off‑site parking location before or at the end of the shift. Train drivers and report on individual and system performance to the Supervisor. Lead by example and has safety as a core value. Perform administrative tasks assigned by management. The Shuttle Driver Lead will also be asked to substitute for the Supervisor during scheduled time off.
Perform other related duties as generally instructed.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years related driving experience, i.e., shuttle, routed, or point‑to‑point transportation using a vehicle with 10,000 GVWR or greater.
- At least two (2) years of customer service experience in a transportation related role.
- Must be a reliable team member supported by a strong attendance record.
- Must be able to successfully pass a road test in a shuttle vehicle.
- Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviewed by Seattle Children’s Risk Management office prior to start of employment.
- Current Washington State Driver’s license or able to obtain a Washington State Driver’s License within 1 month of start date or transfer.
- Must have an active US DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain with 3 months of start date or transfer.
- Class C Commercial Driver’s License with a P2 Endorsement or be able to obtain within 3 months of start or transfer.
- Associate’s Degree in Business, Operations, Human Resources, or closely related field.
- At least 3 years related driving experience.
- Have a Class C Commercial Driver’s License with a P2 Endorsement.
- Have a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a P‑1 Endorsement.
- At least one (1) year experience as a lead or supervisor in a role related to transportation operations.
$24.77 - $37.16 per hour
Salary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
