Swim Instructor

Provide quality leadership, instruction, and demonstration to teach swim skills and water safety with enthusiasm, patience, and passion. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• CPR
• First Aid
• Lifeguard Certification

• Responsible for the safety of swimmers and surrounding area at all times
• Exude leadership, confidence, and professionalism at all times by representing McDonald Swim School as the premiere Swim School
• Create a positive, energetic, and passionate lesson environment for swimmers to learn, improve and grow in their appreciation for water safety and love of swimming
• Embraces new approaches and discovers ideas to create a better experience
• Develops positive relationships with family members and participants
• Encouraging member and parent involvement – encouraging homework and skills to practice
• Strives to exceed goals and deliver a high-value experience for all.
• Encourage more lesson signups and referrals to friends

• Organizes and puts away equipment every day - reports damaged equipment
• Working knowledge of McDonald Swim School policies and programs
• Interacts with owner for feedback and advancing students participating in swim lessons
• Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
• Contribute to the Swim School staff as a valuable team member who is consistently dependable and reliable
• Wear modest racing swimsuit while in the water, rash guards are accepted
• Trains and supervises class aides as needed

• Ability to swim freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly properly
• Ability to tread water while assisting a child across the deep end
• Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child

• Hourly employee
• Starting at minimum wage with no experience.
• With experience, pay varies on teaching ability.
