** This role pays $24 to $30 DOE
**** Our Fitness Specialist
*** Assesses and evaluates senior residents’ needs for exercise and fitness. Works with residents individually and in groups. Plans individual fitness programs for participating residents.
* Supervises or presents exercise programs that may include exercises in pool or other high-risk areas.
* Assists team members with orientation to Fitness Center, procedures, and policies.
* Produces promotional materials, newsletters, flyers, etc. as required.
* Inspects, cleans and maintains equipment.
* Maintains records of residents’ progress.
* Assist with collecting data and reports for fitness activities as required
* Provides in-service trainings as required.
* Works in collaboration with other professionals to provide appropriate assistance to residents.
* Promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
* Performs administrative functions for the department.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
** What you need to succeed:
*** Bachelor’s degree in an exercise-related discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience (3 or more years of fitness related experience
* National Fitness Certification required (ACSM preferred, but not required.
* Experience in prescribing exercise to special populations preferred.
* Must be able to demonstrate proper uses of the exercise equipment.
* Completion of a background check, may also include drug screen, physical, fingerprint, and TB test as required by state/local guidelines.
* First aid training and CPR per state/local guidelines may be required
** Physical Requirements for the role include:
*** Must be able to physically assist in safe exercise and the safe operation of the equipment.
* Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs.
