Position: Recreation Leader I - Specialized Recreation Programs

Recreation Leader I – Specialized Recreation Programs at City of Auburn (Washington).

Pay Range

Base hourly rate: $18.04–$18.77, based on skills and experience.

Position Details

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organized leader to supervise specialized recreation programs that make a real difference. In this temporary role you’ll shape activities for diverse populations, lead a team of staff and volunteers, assist with creative program planning, and help ensure smooth event execution.

Primary Duties
  • Support and inspire participants of all ages and abilities through activities such as sports, arts & crafts, cooking, games, music, dance, fitness, and community outings.
  • Lead and assist with field trips, social events, and overnight adventures like camping trips and sports tournaments.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and across days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Work 3–12 hours per week, depending on the season and program needs.
  • Communicate with care, using patience and professionalism with participants, families, coworkers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • First aid and CPR certification required (provided by the city).
