Become a Key Player as a Software Quality Engineer

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will own end-to-end quality for effects and transitions in a professional video application, ensuring visual correctness and reliable performance for customers. You will collaborate with plugin vendors, developers, and product stakeholders to shape release decisions and mitigate quality risks. Work model:
Onsite in Seattle.

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team
  • Design and maintain comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans covering functional, regression, and performance areas for effects and transitions.
  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests to validate rendering correctness (visual artifacts, frame accuracy, temporal glitches) and catch regressions early.
  • Define and run repeatable performance and reliability benchmarks (FPS, scrubbing responsiveness, render/export times, stability under heavy timelines) and track metrics over time.
  • Collaborate with third-party plugin vendors and internal teams to validate compatibility and diagnose integration issues.
  • Represent the customer perspective in planning, design reviews, and release decisions, communicating quality and performance risks to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive issues from discovery to closure with clear reproduction steps and high‑quality bug reports.
Here’s What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Software Engineering in Test, including work on complex desktop products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong background testing professional video or media applications and deep familiarity with NLE editing workflows.
  • Expert hands‑on experience using NLE tools for timeline editing, effects, transitions, and export workflows in real production‑style projects.
  • Proven expertise validating visual quality for effects and transitions across first‑party and third‑party plugins.
  • Experience designing and maintaining comprehensive test strategies including functional, regression, and performance coverage.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to articulate technical issues and risks to engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.
Here’s What Else Might Help You Out
  • Previous experience with GPU‑related testing.
Pay Range

$64.79 - $80.99/hour
