Senior Manager, Software Development, Aurora DSQL

Job  | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.

Does working on an innovative and transformational serverless database excite you? Aurora DSQL is a serverless, distributed SQL database with virtually unlimited scale, high availability, and zero infrastructure management. Our vision is to make Aurora DSQL the best database service offering for all types of workloads. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of databases and make history.

The Query Processing team of Aurora DSQL owns everything in the life cycle of a SQL statement, from Parsing, Analysis (syntax and semantic), Rewriting, to Planning (Optimizer) and Execution, while providing customers access to observability metrics to help them understand their database performance better.

A successful candidate for this role is expected to have deep software engineering, project management, and people management skills. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and have the ability to deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations—from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that set AWS’s services apart. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IOT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
