Backend Engineer, Global E-commerce - Engineering Efficiency

Responsibilities

Global E-commerce is a content e-commerce business with international short video product as the carrier. It is committed to becoming the first choice for users to discover and purchase good products at affordable prices. The global e-commerce business team hopes to provide users with more tailored, active and efficient consumption experience, enabling merchants to receive stable and reliable platform services in different scenarios such as live e-commerce, short video content e-commerce, so as to make more affordable and high-quality products sell easily and a better life within reach.

The Global E-commerce Engineering Efficiency team focuses on building SDLC platforms, CI/CD pipelines, release and deployment systems, developer tooling, and best practices that enhance Dev Ops maturity, engineering quality, and developer productivity across global E-commerce.

• Define, implement, and promote SDLC standards and engineering best practices across global E-commerce teams.
• Design, build, and evolve CI/CD and release/deployment platforms to support reliable, scalable, and automated software delivery.
• Develop backend services and platform capabilities that improve engineering efficiency and developer experience.
• Continuously optimize systems to improve availability, observability, maintainability, and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2 years of backend software development experience in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
• In-depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks such as MySQL, Redis, Kafka, or MQ.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, service governance, load balancing, and distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a high sense of responsibility and ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience improving engineering efficiency, developer productivity, or Dev Ops maturity at the team or organizational level.
• Understanding of observability, reliability, and performance optimization for large-scale systems.
• Passion for programming, strong learning ability, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset toward staying current with industry technologies.
