Together, we confront tangible challenges head-on, poised to revolutionize customer experiences in unforeseen ways.

This is a hands-on position where you will design and build extremely scalable components and features for Amazon's PXT reporting platform, while helping formulate strategy and direction for data processing across the organization. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with internal customers, and senior leadership to help them derive maximum value from people analytics.

We're looking for a top software developer with excellent programming skills, deep understanding of data processing and parallelization, and a proven track record of delivery. You should also excel at leadership and customer obsession while having a genuine passion for massive-scale computing that powers people decisions  this role, you'll be instrumental in building the infrastructure that helps Amazon make informed decisions through people analytics

Key job responsibilities
  • Staying current with the constantly evolving data processing, data lake, and people analytics technology landscape
  • Translating complex functional and technical requirements from stakeholders into detailed architecture and design solutions
  • Delivering high-quality PXT reporting solutions and features on schedule to support critical business decisions
  • Maintaining technical expertise to keep pace with rapidly changing technology and collaborating with the team to evaluate and integrate new technologies that enhance our people data capabilities
  • Raise the bar on code quality, including security, readability, consistency, maintainability.
A day in the life

As an SDE on the team, you will be responsible for creating scalable solutions to facilitate dataset onboarding, access control, metadata management, data preprocessing/modeling workflows. You will help define and implement the end-to-end governance model to ensure secure access to PXT data, adherence to privacy regulations, and centralized auditing.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
