Java Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract job with a client in Seattle, WA (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will lead software initiatives, develop mission-critical applications, and ensure stable, high-quality deliverables.

Rate Range: $66/hour to $70/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java/J2EE, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with architectural guidelines.
• Design and implement RESTful and SOAP Web Services to support business functionality and integration needs.
• Work closely with business units, architects, and external teams to deliver software solutions on time and within budget, while also providing feedback and technical guidance to project managers.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, performance testing, and code optimization; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
• Utilize Oracle SQL/PLSQL, including the design of tables and stored procedures, to manage and interact with databases efficiently.
• Work in Agile environments, attending regular sprints and ensuring deliverables are met in each phase of development.
• Coordinate with distributed development teams across regions to handle cross-functional issues and deliver project milestones.
• Document software designs, write technical specifications, and create prototypes to prove design concepts.
• Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and frameworks to drive improvements in software development practices and project efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers while also supporting strategic direction for individual initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 6+ years of hands‑on experience in Java development, with a focus on building large‑scale enterprise and distributed applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE, RESTful services, Spring Framework (Spring Boot), and SOAP Webservices.
• Experience working with Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Apache Kafka, and No
  
  SQL databases (such as Cassandra), along with knowledge of Agile development processes and SDLC.

Pay: $66.00 to $70.00 per hour
