Software Engineer (Senior level)

The Consumer team owns comprehensive digital experiences for home sellers and buyers. At this pivotal time we are transforming our technical architecture and user experience to a multi‑product, personalized journey. We are seeking a product‑focused Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us in this transformation.

• Create meaningful experiences:
  Work closely with product managers and designers to understand user pain points and build elegant, scalable solutions that delight our customers.
• Own full‑stack features:
  Design and develop robust front‑end experiences in React and Type Script, while also diving into back‑end systems (Python, Go, or Ruby) to ensure seamless end‑to‑end functionality.
• Lead with craftsmanship:
  Write clean, maintainable, and modular code. Contribute to reusable UI components and scalable application architecture that powers multiple user experiences.
• Collaborate across disciplines:
  Engage with engineers, designers, and operators to deliver end‑to‑end solutions, share feedback, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Drive quality & best practices:
  Champion technical excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and initiatives to raise the bar on software quality and team processes.
• Remove friction with technology:
  Partner with our operations teams to identify opportunities where software can simplify workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance customer support.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Outstanding object‑oriented design and programming skills (OOD/OOP).
• 8+ years of full‑stack software development experience in a SaaS company building high‑quality, web‑based, user‑centered products.
• 8+ years of front‑end UI experience with JavaScript/Type Script, React, Graph
  
  QL, HTML5, and CSS, including building scalable and maintainable interfaces.
• 5+ years of back‑end development experience;
  Ruby, Go, and Python preferred.
• A strong desire to build intuitive, impactful software that solves real problems for real people.
• Experience working closely with cross‑functional partners—engineering, design, operations—to deliver value to customers.
• Direct experience with our tech stack (ideal):
  Frontend:
  React, Typescript, gRPC, Kafka, Graph
  
  QL;
  Backend:
  Rails, Go; DB:
  Postgres;
  Cloud: AWS.

The base pay range for this position is $170,000 – $234,000 annually, plus RSUs and bonuses. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
